Anti-Aging Skin Care at Any Age
Many people do not worry about taking care of their skin until it is too late. But even in your 20s, age and the environment begin to take a toll on the skin. Your pores may become enlarged, your skin may begin to sag, and wrinkles may appear around your eyes and mouth. Thankfully, there are ways to keep the glow into your 50s and beyond. All it takes is a little basic skincare knowledge.
As far as facial care goes, look for natural-based products made specifically for your age and skin type. Cleanse your skin and treat it for specific problems. If you suffer from acne, spot treat it with a pimple cream. For those who are beginning to see wrinkles, fill them in with a special wrinkle cream to help smooth the skin and diminish the appearance of wrinkles.
Once it has been cleansed and treated, moisturize the skin on your face as well as the rest of your body with a moisturizer while the skin is still damp (after showering or bathing). This will help seal in the moisture and block out environmental conditions that may be drying the skin. Apply a moisturizer that contains sunscreen to protect your skin from the harmful rays of the sun..
Cleansing and moisturizing are not the only ways to practice anti-aging skin care, however.
Stress is prevalent in our everyday lives. Stress can bring on breakouts of acne, the appearance of dull skin, puffy eyes, and frown lines. While it cannot always be prevented, stress can be treated. Help your skin de-stress by eating well, getting plenty of sleep, and exercising regularly.
Antioxidants fight the aging process by lessening the effects of free radicals and preventing damage caused by premature aging. There are many foods that contain antioxidants which may already be part ofyour diet. Foods with Vitamins A, C, and E are packed with antioxidants and help promote skin radiance. Examples: tomatoes, chocolate, grape juice, wine, and water, among many other foods.
Sleep is necessary to help restore skin cells. A lack of sleep will begin to appear with tired eyes and a dull complexion. These are two major signs of premature aging.
People who exercise regularly have healthier skin than those who rarely exercise. The skin of regular exercisers is more resilient and heals more quickly. Set a goal to exercise 30 minutes at least 3 times a week.
People who have dry skin often have more wrinkles. To help keep the skin hydrated, drink plenty of water each day. For every 40 pounds you weigh, try to drink at least 20 ounces of water. So, if you weigh 160 pounds, you will need to drink 80 ounces of water a day to remain hydrated. (This equals four 20-ounce bottles.)
Sun exposure and smoking are two of the main causes of aging. They dry out the skin and cause premature wrinkling. One of the best ways to promote anti-aging skin care is to avoid sun exposure whenever possible. When you are outside, even on cloudy days, wear sunglasses to prevent wrinkles around your eyes. Research suggests that smokers skin ages twice as fast as the skin of nonsmokers. Stop smoking to stop the formation of fine lines around your mouth.
Anti-aging skin care is essential, no matter how young or old you are. Luckily, skincare information is prevalent in today's society. Without proper care, your skin will begin to show signs of aging very quickly.
Caring for your skin is important for more than just cosmetic reasons.
