Protein helps you build up muscles instead of just putting on fat, and this is the type of weight gain that you are aiming towards. Make sure that you look for lean sources of protein in your diet, whether they come from lean meats, nuts, seeds, or legumes.

For lean meats, aim towards white meat on poultry, stay away from pork or fatty cuts of beef, and try to increase your intake of fish. Protein is one of the important building blocks of getting good muscle onto your frame.

Similarly, also remember that aerobic exercise is centered primarily on burning fat. While it ca help you keep your heart healthy, also remember that it is not going to help you lose weight in a way that resistance training will.
