You don't have to be a vegetarian to eat healthy. Though it couldn't hurt.
In today's world of synthetic monotranssaturated megafats, it's never been more important to pay attention to what you're eating than right now. Well, maybe it was more important before the days of refrigeration. Regardless, reading the label on something so seemingly innocent as a box of cereal can be like interpreting Navajo Wind Talker's code, and this trend has given way to an epidemic of obesity, diabetes, and very likely some long-term consequences that we haven't even comprehended.
The first place to start when making the choice to consciously alter you diet is the U.S. Department of Agriculture's New Food Pyramid. Once you learn how much of each type of food to consume, however, a new dilemma will likely present itself. Everyone needs to consume some fats and oils, but what kind? What is good cholesterol? How much red meat should I be consuming? Should I consume meat at all?
All these questions can be answered by our panel of esteemed writers here at EnvyMyHealth.com. Have a question that hasn't been answered? Submit it here and we'll get right on it.
